#CITY
Located at the foot of the Euganean Hills, Este was the vital center of Venetian culture; it seems that its name derives from the Adige, which bathed it up to the route of 589 AD. Since then the city was abandoned and only resumed life after 1000, with the lordship of the Este family who, driven out by the Paduan in 1275, moved to Ferrara and generated the Este dynasty.
Arriving in the city, one immediately sees the spectacular complex of the Carraresi castle, with the walls, interspersed with 12 of the original 14 crenellated towers, which separates it from the underlying village, once equipped with walls, whose structure, almost rectangular, is still marked by the perimeter of the Bisatto canal

An ancient fortified city with a typical medieval atmosphere, Monselice is a Venetian village inserted in the enchanting panorama of the Euganean Hills.

We walk along via Argine Destro and we meet the garden and the adjacent walls, in which, within the Giostra della Rocca event, in the month of September, evocative competitions of skill take place: bow and arrows for the archers competition and strength and ingenuity in the game of the millstone.
