And the Chieti people are very fond of this legend. So much so that the Greek hero, armed with a spear and shield, appears on the city coat of arms.

The historic center is a continuous succession of ancient monuments, noble palaces, historic shops, squares, fountains and characteristic alleys.

#DANNUNZIO BIRTH HOUSE MUSEUM

Passing through Pescara one cannot help but pass by the house where a colleague was born as well as the creator of the word aircraft (still in use in Italian aviation terminology) the poet, Gabriele Dannunzio.

The “Birthplace of Gabriele d’Annunzio” Museum occupies the first floor of the building where the Poet was born and spent his childhood and still retains the original nineteenth-century atmosphere, with its elegant wall decorations and period furnishings, which he returns to his work in the form of visions, impressions and memories, linked above all to the strong value that family affections had for him.

The visit proposes the succession of the first five rooms, which constitute the original nucleus of the house-museum, for each of which the description that the Poet gives of it in the Nocturne is reported. The subsequent ones were intended for the exhibition of photos, documents, books, casts and memorabilia representative of the figure of the Poet.

NATIONAL PARK OF GRAN SASSO

#PARK

The Park is a very rich deposit of geological, environmental, anthropological and cultural assets.
The former undoubtedly rest on the primacy of the Gran Sasso d’Italia, which with its 2912 m is the roof of the Apennines, but the geological value of the Monti della Laga is also significant, which with Monte Gorzano reach 2458 meters of altitude. .

Ancient villages, archaeological sites, castles, sanctuaries, abbeys, rock churches, hermitages and caves dot the surprising mountain landscapes of the Park, a nature exceptionally rich in forests, springs, waterfalls, prairies, plateaus, vertiginous crests and impressive rocky walls. It is an immense resource, also made up of crafts, typical products, food and wine and folklore, to be protected and enhanced.
