FAR FROM THE FIELD
CREMONA
Birthplace of Torrone, also known as the City of the three "T's". The first T stands for the Torrone, the second for the Torazzo bell tower (one of the highest bell towers in Europe), the third for Tognazzi (Ugo), a famous Cremonese actor.
#PIAZZA DEL MUNICIPIO
Where the contrast between the red of the bricks and the white of the marble of the Duomo and the Baptistery is immediately striking.
Inside the square we can find:
The Cathedral and the Baptistery

The Cathedral of Cremona (or Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta) is one of the most beautiful religious buildings in northern Italy. Built in Romanesque in 1100, it has undergone continuous alterations so today you can see Gothic and Baroque elements.
The Baptistery

The Cremona Baptistery is 34 meters high and 20.50 meters wide. It was built in 1167 with an octagonal plan (the eighth day is that of Creation and therefore of Baptism) and a dome which, as an innovation, anticipated Brunelleschi’s in Florence by two centuries. Inside there is a beautiful baptismal font, the statue of the Archangel Gabriel and three altars.
Opening hours and ticket prices
The Cremona Cathedral and the Baptistery are open every weekday from 8 to 12 and from 15.30 to 19.
Public holidays: from 7.30 to 12.30 and from 15.30 to 19.
Admission: free
Torazzo bell tower

502 strenuous steps lead to the top of the Torrazzo, the bell tower of the Cremona Cathedral. Obviously the view from here is magnificent and fully justifies the effort it takes to get there. In addition, from the height of the 112 meters reached, you can boast of having climbed the highest masonry tower in the world.
Opening hours and ticket prices
Opening hours
From 10 to 12.30 and from 14.30 to 17.40

Since 1206 the civil and political power of Cremona has been exercised in this beautiful building. The red brick facade contrasts, even geographically, with the white and red marble of the Duomo.

Cost of the ticket: free
